These terms govern your use of resumefromgit.com. By accessing or using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. They should be read alongside our privacy policy.
What the service is
resumefromgit.com is a free tool that reads publicly available GitHub profile data and presents it as a visual developer dashboard, and that generates a PDF resume entirely in your browser. There is no account, no signup, and no charge.
Eligibility
The site is intended for people aged 13 and over. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
No account, no login
The site has no accounts and never asks you to sign in, provide a password, or authorise anything against your GitHub account. Anything you type into the resume form is stored only in your browser and is lost if you clear it; we store no copy.
Data sources and accuracy
Every statistic on a profile page is computed from GitHub’s public API and cached for up to twelve hours, so it may lag GitHub itself. Contribution counts reflect only what GitHub exposes publicly, which excludes most private activity, work on non-default branches, and commits authored under an email not registered to the account. Treat the numbers as a snapshot of public activity, not a complete record of anyone’s work, and verify anything that matters to a decision.
Your resume content
Anything you type into the resume form stays in your browser and remains yours. We do not store or transmit it. You are responsible for its accuracy, including any claim about employment or education, and for the PDF you produce from it, including how and where you use it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use automated systems to access the site at a rate that degrades it for others;
- attempt to circumvent rate limiting, caching, or any technical control;
- use the site to harass, profile, or target individuals, or to compile dossiers on people;
- misrepresent generated output as an official GitHub product;
- use the site in a way that violates GitHub’s terms of service or any applicable law.
Third-party services
The site depends on third-party services, including GitHub’s public API, Cloudflare for hosting and security, Google for analytics and advertising, and a short-lived cache. Each operates under its own terms and privacy policy. By using the site you are also bound by the terms of any third-party service that processes data on it, such as GitHub’s terms for the data displayed here.
Advertising
The site may display third-party advertising. We do not control and do not endorse advertiser content, and any transaction with an advertiser is strictly between you and them.
Intellectual property
Profile data, repository names, descriptions, and avatars belong to their respective owners and are displayed under GitHub’s public API terms. The written articles, curated introductions, design, and source code of this site belong to resumefromgit.com. Nothing in these terms grants you a licence to copy or redistribute them.
No warranties
The service is provided free of charge on an “as is” and “as available” basis, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate. The site depends on GitHub’s API, which may be rate-limited or unavailable.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, resumefromgit.com is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site, including any hiring or career outcome connected to a generated resume, and our total liability is limited to US$100. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In those jurisdictions, these limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles, and disputes will be brought exclusively in the courts of Kolkata, West Bengal. If you live in a jurisdiction whose consumer protections cannot be waived by agreement, those protections continue to apply to you to the extent required by law.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated date above will change to reflect revisions, and your continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
