This page explains, in plain language, which cookies and similar storage resumefromgit.com and its third-party services use, what each one does, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our privacy policy.

The site itself sets no cookies

resumefromgit.com does not write any cookies of its own. There are no accounts, no sessions, and nothing on our servers to remember between visits. The handful of values the site does store, such as your light/dark theme preference and your consent choice, live only in your browser’s localStorage, not in a cookie, and are never sent to our servers or anyone else’s.

Cloudflare Web Analytics (no cookies)

Separately from the cookie-based services below, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics (also called Real User Measurements, or RUM), a first-party performance-monitoring tool provided by our hosting provider, Cloudflare. It measures aggregated page load times, resource timing and usage metrics, plus coarse device, browser and geographic-region information, so we can keep the site fast.

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or any client-side persistent identifier, and it does not track you across other websites. Because it sets nothing in your browser, it is not affected by the consent banner and there is nothing to opt out of here - it is entirely separate from, and unaffected by, whether you accept or decline the Google Analytics / AdSense consent described below.

Cookies set by third-party services

Where analytics are enabled, Google Analytics 4 may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. These are set by Google, not by us, and are governed by Google’s own policies, linked below. Google AdSense is not currently active on this site - see below.

Google Analytics (GA4)

Used to understand traffic in aggregate: how many people visit, which pages are read, what devices and browsers are used, and roughly where visitors come from. Typical cookies include _ga and _ga_*, which distinguish one browser from another so repeat visits are not double-counted. This data is not used to build a profile that identifies you as an individual.

Microsoft Clarity

Used to record aggregate visitor interactions, session recordings, and click and scroll heatmaps to improve user experience. Typical cookies include _clck (persisting unique visitor settings for 1 year) and _clsk (connecting multiple page views into a single session for 1 day). Google AdSense

We do not currently run Google AdSense or any other advertising on this site, so no advertising cookies are set today. The site is built to support AdSense in the future; if we turn it on, this section will be updated first to list the cookies or identifiers Google sets. Once enabled, Google may use cookies or identifiers to show personalised ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites, or to show non-personalised ads where consent for personalisation is not given. AdSense’s invalid-traffic protection (adtrafficquality.google) would also run a small number of requests as part of serving and verifying ads.

How consent works here

In regions where prior consent is required, including the EEA, the UK and India, no analytics or personalised advertising cookie is set until you accept via the consent banner shown on your first visit. Declining leaves the entire site fully functional - nothing breaks, nothing is hidden. In other regions these services may run by default, subject to the same controls described below.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for resumefromgit.com, which resets the consent banner to ask again on your next visit.

Controlling cookies

• Use the consent banner on your first visit, or clear your browser’s site data to see it again, to accept or decline analytics and personalised advertising.
• Most browsers let you block or delete cookies entirely, or block third-party cookies specifically, in their privacy or site-data settings.
• Manage Google’s advertising cookies directly through Google Ads Settings.
• Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services in Google’s partner sites policy.

Blocking or clearing cookies never breaks the dashboard, resume builder, or PDF export - those run entirely on public GitHub data and your browser’s local storage, neither of which depends on cookies.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated date at the top of this page will change with it.
